The Denard Davis Family

Mr. Denard and his mule named Nell were known all over Carteret County as a mover of houses and many other things. It has been said that almost every house on Davis Shore has been moved at least once. Some other interesting objects that Denard moved were the WWII Gun Mounts at Cape Lookout and the Coast Guard Station formerly located at Bear Island to Cape Carteret, where it sits today.
